Mobile Resource Unit (MRU)

Middlesex Association For The Blind (MBA)

The Mobile Resource Unit (MRU) is a converted motorhome that visits various venues throughout the 9 Boroughs in Middlesex. Initially funded by the Big Lottery during its inception, the MRU provides information, advice and an opportunity to try and test specialist equipment for those that have a visual impairment.

Below is a short list of some of the items we have on board that can be viewed and tested; no appointment is required.

CCTV magnifiers

Handheld magnifiers (both electronic and conventional)

Talking clocks

Talking wrist watches

Lighting equipment

Sunglasses in various sizes and shades

Cooking / kitchen items such as level indicators, easy grip openers, etc

Tactile CD Stereos / Radios / USB Players

Suitable for 18+ with the sight loss, the unit is available at various locations, on different dates and at different times which can be checked on our website here www.aftb.org.uk

The unit is usually available fro 9:30am till 4pm.
